Really bad service. We were a party of 5. Place was not even half full. Waitress had a very lazy 'who cares' attitude. Food all came out at different times. Waited an hour for one of the meals. Then, the waitress automatically added a 20% tip to the bill. We were all in a good mood, made the best of it. Lousy, inconsiderate, insulting service.
Great place and vibes for groups. We had a family of 12 and had very good service. At the end we were pleasantly surprised with ice cream over apple pie for our birthday celebrant
I have been going to this restaurant and bar for 30 years. If there's been one consistent anchor in New Paltz unchanging in both good quality and good atmosphere it has been bacchus. Hopefully they're around for another 30 years

Sat us immediately as a group of 7 after two other restaurants had a 25-45 minute wait. Off the main road but definitely worth it. Food was great, beer selection is extensive, service was fantastic. Everyone was friendly right from the front door to the table and back. Would recommend a thousand times!
